Maths Olympics

This week Class 3 have done Maths Olympics to help us to measure.  We were split into groups - first we did a standing long jump in the hall.  Next my group did blowing a small object along a table - it was fun!  We had to measure them accurately in cm.  I was good at it.  Finally we had to see how many crackers we could eat in 2 minutes.

There were good and bad times.  I really enjoyed eating the crackers and drinking the water, along I found the shuttle run hard because my shoes were skidding.

I got better at timing accurately.  The best thing was weighing the beanbags.  The ones I got weighed 1800g.

This week in class three we have been doing math Olympics. We did this to help us with our measuring and to keep us fit.

The first thing I did was blowing the cup across the table and I blew it 31cm which was very good.

Next we were doing shuttle runs up and down the hall .We had to do 20 runs while Emily’s team timed us then we changed round and Emily’s team ran and we did the timing.

After that we did the standing long jump .Emily’s team went first and we measured how far they jumped .They did really well, then my team jumped but I didn’t do this one Spencer and James did. But I think that was a good thing because they can jump further than me. I got a go as well but I didn’t get to write my score because it didn’t count .Only 2 people from each team could do each task.

Next we went out doors to do a task with water although it was not    one of my favourite tasks because we had to get water in a cup and run across the play ground with it and pour it into a jug. The water was very cold, also we only had 2 minutes to do it in.

In really enjoyed the task where we needed to drink as much water as you could in 30 seconds. I drank 258ml and I was really angry when Chris drank more than me. He drank 290ml! All that water gave me stomach ache!

I have leant a lot about measuring this week and I even learnt that some times maths can actually be fun!

This week Class 3 were doing Maths Olympics outside and inside to learn how to measure.

First we did standing long jump.  Next we did shuttle runs, but I didn't do it; some of my team mates did it instead.

I learnt how to measure in centimetres.  The hardest thing was hopping because you only had 4 seconds.

The best thing was eating crackers.

In class three we have been doing a maths Olympics for the past days. We were doing it mainly to help us measure more accurately. We did it in the hall, outside and in our classroom.

First we blew a cup across the table. Millie and Aaron did that; they found it hard because we had to blow very hard. If you want more information carry on reading.

Next Emily and Aaron did the standing long jump. Later Millie and Emily did the shuttle run. We did some of the activities in the hall and others including transferring water from one cup to a jug, running across the playground with it. We did do more but there are too many to tell you about all of them

The good thing was learning in a fun way and I liked the shuttle run. Finally the best thing was eating the crackers: Millie and Emily did that and it was hard, because you didn’t have much time and the crackers were dry and it felt horrible in your mouth because of the texture.

This week in class 3 we have been doing Olympics in maths. We did it so we could practice our measuring. We also did some of the activities in the hall. The ones that I did in the hall were the Shuttle runs and the Standing long jump. I did the Shuttle runs with Millie and the Standing long jump with Aaron.

First when Millie and Emily were doing the shuttle runs it was very hard. We had to run from one piece of sticky tape to the other piece in 1 minute, and we had to do that 20 times I was very worn out.

After that, When Aaron and Emily were doing the standing long jump I thought I would find it easy. However I didn’t, because I only jumped 89cm and Aaron jumped longer than me. Later I came to my best activity, the crackers. You had to eat as many crackers as you can. I did that with Millie it was very good.

Although I liked crackers these ones were dry.
